1st Steps to Global Climate Change Action
The two-week United Nations Climate Talks in Bonn, Germany, concluded on June 12, 2009 with progress on negotiating how to step up international climate change action. Delegates from 183 countries held discussions to further an international climate change deal to address the threat of global warming. The results of this convention will be used to frame future policy on climate change, including the international climate treaty scheduled in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009 which will succeed and expand the Kyoto Protocol. . EPA Extends SPCC Compliance Dates to November 10, 2010
On June 19, 2009, EPA published a final rule in the Federal Register (74 FR 29136) to extend the compliance dates for the July 2002 and December 2006 SPCC rule amendments from July 1, 2009, to November 10, 2010. The rule amendment applies to all facilities subject to the SPCC rule. READ MORE

January 2009 Adjustment to Civil Penalties for Violations of Environmental Regulations
On January 7, 2009, the EPA published the Civil Monetary Penalty Inflation Adjustment Rule in the Federal Register, which became effective on January 12, 2009. The rule adjusts for inflation of the statutory civil penalties that may be assessed for violations of EPA-administered statutes and the implementing regulations. This regulatory change may expose your business to higher monetary penalties for environmental-related violations. READ MORE
