PRP Project Management

The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), also known as Superfund, is a tax on chemical and petroleum industries used to respond to releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances that may endanger public health or the environment.  The law authorizes short and long-term remediation response actions be taken by potentially responsible parties (PRPs).

Are you often surprised by CERCLA Section 104, 106, or 122 notices that you may be a PRP at a Superfund site, or worse yet; you are responsible for investigating or cleaning up the site? Do you know the universe of sites where your company formerly owned or operated? Who manages this risk and how do you acquire a clear understanding of your financial responsibility? Do you have time to evaluate all the sites or is this something that is dealt with when the EPA or State Agency makes a demand? Do you struggle with making it to PRP meetings and tracking all of the activities that are going on at the site?

EHS Support can eliminate surprises and can save hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in unsupervised actions taken on behalf of multiple PRP groups by helping you manage your Superfund sites.  We can also act in the capacity of multi-party site coordinator including technical, administrative, and financial management; oversight; and facilitation.  We will:

  • Help identify your universe of potential sites
  • Attend meetings on your behalf
  • Assess Superfund financial risk
  • Track activities at sites where you may be a de minimis party
