Hannah Kinzie is a Geologist with over six years of environmental consulting experience. Project experience has been focused in remedial activities, site investigation, brownfield redevelopment, and environmental compliance activities in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Illinois, and Indiana.

Technical experience includes conceptual site model development, hydrogeologic data interpretation, MODFLOW and fate and transport modeling, and various workplan, report, and technical submittal preparation.

Field experience includes managing and performing site investigations including oversight of drilling, monitoring well installation, and soil classification; soil, groundwater, and NAPL sampling; aquifer pump testing; and construction management and excavation oversight.

    Key Projects

Undeveloped Property – Yorktown Heights, New York (2008-2009)

Completed the preparation and implementation of a three-dimensional groundwater flow model to predict potential groundwater ‘mounding’ related to construction of an on-site wastewater treatment system. Field work completed included installation of soil profile test pits, air and mud rotary installation of pumping and monitoring wells, aquifer pump testing, conceptual site model development, data analysis, MODFLOW groundwater model development, model calibration, and interpretation of results. Hannah Kinzie was responsible for field activities, model preparation, and report compilation.

    Brownfield Redevelopment – Chicago, Illinois

Completed construction oversight activities during brownfield site redevelopment of a former brake shop and railway property. Field work included construction oversight, soil and groundwater remediation and sampling, engineered barrier design and implementation, and health and safety oversight. Coordinated with the Chicago DOE, Illinois EPA, and client during site redevelopment into a community center and sports facilities. Completed progress reports as well as technical report preparation for submission to regulatory agencies.

Active Petroleum Refinery – Whiting, Indiana

Evaluated existing data and assisted in conceptual site model development to identify data gaps, design future investigation, provide technical guidance and reporting. Assisted in LNAPL CSM development, analysis of data, and identification of data gaps. Developed database for site-wide creation of isopach maps of geologic units to streamline cross section and understanding of the geology. Completed fate and transport non-default modeling of contaminants and associated reporting.

Former Dry Cleaning Facility – Valley Ridge, New Jersey

Completed subsurface investigation activities related to tetrachloroethylene contamination from an unknown sewer line breach beneath a dry cleaning facility. Delineation activities were conducted to determine contamination extent, followed by excavation activities. Hannah completed field activities, assisted in design of a vapor intrusion system, and technical reporting to the NJDEP.

Residential Property – Marlboro, New Jersey

Following removal of a leaking 550-gallon underground storage tank at a residential property, oversaw excavation activities to extents practicable. Installed monitoring wells and completed sampling to delineate groundwater contamination. Designed and implemented diagonal injections of Nano-Ox™ to enhance aerobic bioremediation of residual hydrocarbons. Office responsibilities included preparation of various workplans, reports, and letters to the regulatory agency.

Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments

Hannah has completed assessments for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial clients in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Indiana. Phase I work included reconnaissance visits, technical report preparation, and recommendations for Phase II work. She completed subsurface investigation activities at a wide range of properties including manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, retail gas stations, and above- and underground storage tank sites. Responsibilities included proposal development, preparation of work plans, internal project planning, implementation, data compilation, evaluation, and technical reporting to regulatory agencies.
